When I analyse the current Mayo panel I will forever be thankful for the amazing amount of talent we have representing our amazing county.
We have the brilliant players who the media focus on the most but we also have players who deserve more recognition.
In todays post I will be talking about a young player who I believe will have his shining moment when football returns Stephen Coen.

Making his senior debut against Dublin in 2015 with 33 appearances for Mayo, the 25 year old entered the senior panel with quite an impressive cv leading the Mayo minors and Under 21’s to All Ireland glory as captain in 2013 and 2016, captained the UCD senior team to win the 2017/2018 Sigerson Cup, while adding 2x Connaught Titles and 1x Division 1 Title as a senior player.

In GAA teams across the county there is the urge for players to make sure sure they get picked for the starting 15.
When James Horan reprised his role as Mayo manager in 2018 the one thing I wanted to see was field time and opportunities being given.
As a fan all you want is the best treatment for each player, throughout the Mayo panel we have an incredible amount of talent but the one thing I don’t is for players to be overlooked.
Throughout recent times Coen has been starring in the starting line ups and its so important we keep momentum like this for players.

I often say the incredible amount of players we have has an unbreakable power when all combined.
When the GAA resumes I’ll be very interested to see the performances of Stephen Coen.
I believe if given the opportunity we will see see what he truly has to offer and I have no doubt he will be a deciding factor in Mayo’s future success.
Anyone who knows anything about the GAA is that playing county can bring you some brilliant and hard days, as fans it so important to keep up the support for our amazing players.
I’ve no doubt the great days are coming for Stephen Coen, its often been said that we are living in the greatest era of Mayo footballers and I think when given the opportunity on the field Stephen Coen will be at his all time best proving to everyone why he is an incredible player to represent Mayo GAA.
