One of the many things I’m grateful for in Myao GAA is the consistency of amazing footballers we get to see wear the Mayo jersey.

In today’s current squad we get to see the mix between veterans and new talent which when mixed together creates the new modern-day era of Mayo football.

In today’s post, I will be talking about a young man who may only have made his debut last year and has been one of the rising stars throughout the Mayo panel, forward Aidan Orme.

Making his debut against Leitrim in 2021 the Knockmore native has been one of the top rising stars since breaking way to senior level.

At only 22 years old Orme had some first-year under James Horan and it’s safe to say it’s only the beginning of what will be a great career.

Orme was one of James Horan’s Impressive forwards throughout this years Allianz League with impressive performances against Dublin, Armagh, and Kerry.

Whilst bursting onto the county scene Orme has enjoyed recent club success with Knockmore winning back-to-back club championships.

I’ve said before in previous years we got to see the start of what turned out to be the start of brilliant careers and I’ve no doubt it’s the beginning of a great career for Orme.

As we await the start of the championship we always await to see who will step up to the plate.

We have seen that Orme is well able to perform when needed and I look forward to seeing how he performs throughout the championship.

Wishing Aidan and the lads the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
